Biography

Egbert Juffer is a music publisher, composer, arranger and a classical singer – at first active as a baritone, later as a tenor. Born in 1991, Egbert grew up in the Netherlands. Despite having had a youth and upbringing which were far from what they should have been, as well as being estranged from his family, Egbert is fortunate and grateful for the life he has been able to build up both personally and professionally: Something that wouldn’t have been possible without the ongoing support from his close friends and his music teachers.

Egbert’s musical career started as a singer, his early singing teachers including Annette Essers and Jos Dingemanse, both in the Netherlands. During this period several recordings of Egbert were released, including his 2012 album ‘Golden Christmas Classics’ with maestro Hugo van Neck on the Piano. In 2014 Egbert continued his vocal studies in Scotland with Ann Lampard MBE. In 2016 his studies with Ann Lampard were rewarded with obtaining the Associate diploma of Trinity College London in Music Performance with distinction. Performance experience as a singer is broad, including solo recitals, concert appearances and roles in Opera and Oratorio.

In 2015 Egbert started studying with Gareth Green, working on the subjects Music Theory/Literacy, Composition and Piano. These studies with Gareth resulted in successfully obtaining the ABRSM grade 8 certificate in Music Theory in 2016, followed by the Associate diploma of the London College of Music in Music Literacy in 2017. Egbert actively started composing and in 2017/2018 he obtained several certificates in Composition at the London College of Music, all with distinction. In October 2018 Egbert submitted a portfolio of compositions at the London College of Music for which he was awarded the Associate diploma of the London College of Music in Composition in January 2019. In the autumn of 2020 Egbert picked up his singing again and released in December 2020 the album 'Christmas Carols', 10 Songs of Christmas from all over the world, accompanied by Dennis de Bruijn (Piano) & Rineke de Wit (Oboe & Soprano).

Living on the beautiful Isle of Skye in Scotland, Egbert enjoys (apart from his daily activities) touring on his motorcycle, a good cup of coffee and occasionally (if he doesn’t need to ride) a nice beer.
