Today saw the release of the album ‘Christmas Recital 2023’, a live audio recording of the livestream Recital given under the same title on December 23rd, 2023.
Recorded in a studio in Veenendaal (NL), the Christmas Recital featured my ‘6 Carols for Tenor and Piano, Opus 42’, a set of Carol settings especially written for this occasion. I was accompanied by Jeroen Sarphati (on the beautiful Steinway D Grand Piano). Many thanks to Jeroen for stepping up last minute, as the original pianist broke his hand and couldn't play! Also many thanks to everyone involved, including Edmond Fokker - van Crayestein (narrating the 5 verses from Victorian Carol ‘Good King Wenceslas’ in between the 6 Carols), Jochem Geene (production and camera) and Olivier Bölger (camera).
